Sharon Symons
Programs and Engagement Leader
Sharon joined Rural Business Tasmania in October 2024, bringing over 30 years of experience in sales, client management, marketing, and leadership within the commercial print and media industries. Growing up on a dairy and beef farm, she has a strong connection to rural life and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities it presents.
Sharon has long been an active member of the community, taking on numerous volunteer roles over the years. She has been involved with the Agfest committee and spent many years as a dedicated member of Rural Youth, where she received a service award and life memberships from both Tasmanian and Australian Rural Youth. Recently, she served on the Rural Youth Board. Sharon also holds the positions of Vice Chair and Marketing Chair for the Festivale Committee.
Throughout her leadership journey, Sharon has served as both State and National President of Rural Youth and National Exchange Coordinator. She has gained valuable experience through study tours to South Australia, New South Wales, and the United Kingdom, where she lived with Young Farmer families for six months to gain a firsthand understanding of UK agriculture.
Passionate about helping others and bringing joy to people's lives, Sharon believes that sometimes, a simple gesture—a well-timed smile—can make all the difference.
