Rural Relief Fund
In the unfortunate instance when disasters like drought, flood or bush-fires occur, the need for assistance is immediate. With human and animal welfare a priority, the Rural Relief Fund (RRF), through the provision of emergency grants, can act quickly to support those most affected.
In times of crisis and financial hardship, the Rural Relief Fund supports farming families and their communities in their time of most need. Offering grants of up to $2,500* crisis relief is gifted to eligible families based on urgency and the level of support required.
*Due to the 2024 adverse weather conditions - Drought and or storm/flood related assistance up to a maximum of $5000 per family/household is available to eligible applicants. General RRF Assistance up to a maximum if $2500 per family/household is available to eligible applicants.
The priority of family and animal welfare is taken into account, and as such disbursed funds can cover everything from basic household goods including food to utility bills to the repair of damaged fences.
The Rural Relief Fund is supported by the Tasmanian Government through the Department of State Growth.
