Rural Business Tasmania’s, Cultivating Rural Excellence Program is aimed at assisting farmers and farms to be the best they can be. The program, which is supported by the State Government, will empower those in the agricultural industries to have the confidence, skill and determination to take the next step to achieve clearly defined personal and business goals. We often hear that farmers have ideas and opportunities that aren’t realised because they are too busy, under capitalised, a little hesitant to step outside their comfort zone or don’t receive sufficient encouragement to have a go.

Rural Business Tasmania is committed to assisting the State Government achieve its target of increasing the value of Tasmania’s agricultural sector to $10 billion a year by 2050. To do so, we need to ensure our farmers are given every opportunity to learn, grow and achieve, which are the principles for the Cultivating Rural Excellence program. Participants will be able to hone their skills in business planning, positive mindset training, communication, team management, adopting technology, financial reporting, risk management, marketing, wealth management and more.

We are extremely thankful to the State Government for covering $2000 + GST for each participant this amount covers much of the cost for each participant. However, to ensure close and relevant links to industry, as well as additional support to lessen the financial burden on participants, we are seeking to establish partnerships with like-minded businesses to offer scholarships and sponsor sessions.

We are delighted you have taken the time to consider sponsoring the Cultivating Rural Excellence program. There are a number of options available to ensure you maximise your exposure to the next wave of Tasmanian rural leaders, as well as play an integral role in shaping the future of our rural industries:
