Preparing your business for Bird Flu: free information webinars
Although Tasmania remains free of H5 avian influenza, the risk of an outbreak is increasing. In response, the Department of State Growth and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas) are hosting a series of free information webinars to help businesses understand the risks and take practical steps to prepare.
These informative sessions will cover:
• what bird flu is
• what to expect during an outbreak
• how to prepare your business for H5 bird flu
• useful resources and support available to help you get ready.

Avian influenza (bird flu) is a highly contagious viral disease that affects wild, commercial and domestic birds and other animals. With the emergence of the more severe H5 strain – known to cause significant illness and death in birds and other animals – businesses across Tasmania are being urged to prepare now.
